CANADA FEATURE FILM FUND - TELEFILM CANADA ENGLISH-LANGUAGE FEATURE FILM DEVELOPMENT FUND FULLY COMMITTED FOR 2004-2005

Toronto, November 22, 2004 – With a large number of successful development projects, 2004 has proven to be a strong year for English-language feature film development. As a result, Telefilm Canada’s Atlantic, Ontario/Nunavut and Western regional offices will not be accepting new development applications for the remainder of the 2004-2005 fiscal year, effective December 1, 2004. On October 20, 2004, Telefilm’s Quebec office announced that it had committed its English-language feature film development resources.

“To date, Telefilm has invested $3.1 million of its $4 million English-language development budget and we currently have over $2.9 million in demand,” stated Ralph Holt, National Sector Head, Feature Film for Telefilm Canada, “Each of the regional offices will be evaluating all complete development applications, as well as new development applications submitted on or before December 1st, 2004.”

Telefilm Canada will begin accepting new development financing requests for fiscal 2005/06 on February 1, 2005 in each of the regional offices.
