New English-language television development resources

June 10, 2005 - Through the CTF reserves, an additional $1 million is being made available to finance the development of English-language television programs through the Automatic Component of the Canadian Television Fund's (CTF) Development Financing Special Initiatives Stream (administered by Telefilm Canada).

These new resources- will be used first to finance eligible projects that were left un-funded when Telefilm's Ontario & Nunavut and Quebec regional offices exhausted all previously allocated resources. The balance allows the Ontario & Nunavut office to accept new applications, and the Western and Atlantic regions will continue to receive new requests for funding.

The Ontario & Nunavut regional office will be accepting applications for English-language television development (Automatic Component) beginning June 30, 2005 until its allocation is spent.

As of today, resources available for new applications through the Automatic Component are:

Ontario/Nunavut $283,985
Western Region $359,115
Atlantic Region $75,554

In Quebec, after the over-subscription has been managed there will be a small remaining balance from the additional resources that will be transferred into the Selective Component.
