NEW CANADA FEATURE FILM FUND GUIDELINES FOR 2007-2008
Montreal, February 13, 2007 - Telefilm Canada is pleased to announce the
launch of new asymmetrical 2007-2008 guidelines for the Canada Feature Film Fund's
(CFFF) main programs: Development, Marketing and Production.
The 2007-2008 CFFF guidelines are specifically designed to reflect the unique
realities of the English- and French-language markets; in some areas of the
guidelines, differences in the two markets have resulted in asymmetrical policies
for each linguistic market.
In October 2006, Telefilm announced key changes to the Canada Feature Film
Fund for both the English- and French-language markets. These changes, now in
effect for 2007-2008, are the direct result of consultations with the French
and English CFFF Working Groups. (Please see http://www.telefilm.ca/data/Communiques/rel_743.asp
and http://www.telefilm.ca/data/Communiques/rel_742.asp
)
Please take note of the following information:
- Resources within the Development and Production Programs are first allocated
on a linguistic basis: one-third for French-language and two-thirds for English-language
applications.
- Telefilm is currently working with the CFFF Working Group to clarify the
Development Guidelines for the English language market with respect to the
program's goals and objectives, as well as the decision criteria applied by
Telefilm. It is anticipated that an updated version of the development guidelines
will be posted in early 2007-2008. For the moment, the 2007-2008 guidelines
have been extracted from the 2006-2007 guidelines which continue to apply.
The 2007-2008 CFFF guidelines are now available online on Telefilm's
Website.
