2007-2008 guidelines – IPOLC Initiative 3
French-language projects from outside Quebec

Montreal, June 7, 2007 – Telefilm Canada announces the publication of the 2007-2008 guidelines for Initiative 3 of the Interdepartmental Partnership with Official-Language Communities (IPOLC). No significant changes have been made.

Telefilm would like to clarify, however, that it is currently working on the renewal of a three-year agreement (2007-2010), which will focus on developing the skills of Francophone creators working outside Quebec in feature film and on exploring the diverse aspects of multiplatform production. Accordingly, this initiative for television program development, with a budget allocation of $200,000, must be considered as a transitional stage and will not be renewed next year.

During this year of transition, Telefilm will give preference to projects featuring a multiplatform component.

Development support funds are allocated for each application deadline and adjusted as necessary based on the demand for each program genre, as follows:

  • 1st deadline June 19, 2007: up to 60% of the total, or approximately $120,000
  • 2nd deadline October 17, 2007: up to 40% of the total, or approximately $80,000
