June 18, 2007 —Telefilm Canada is delighted to announce that Louie Ghiz, New Media Analyst for the Atlantic Region of Telefilm Canada has been appointed as Interim New Media Manager for the Ontario & Nunavut Region, effective June 29, 2007. Louie will be replacing Agnes Zak during her one-year maternity leave.

Louie Ghiz has been an Investment Analyst for Telefilm Canada since November 2000 and is responsible for all phases of analysis and contracting of all New Media projects for the Atlantic Region. He is also the lead on outreach which includes seeking out new and emerging talent. For the past year, Louie has supported the Toronto office in New Media while continuing his New Media role in Atlantic Canada. Previously, Louie worked in production accounting at Picture Plant Ltd. and on various TV and feature film productions in the Atlantic Region.

Louie will continue to be based in Halifax and present in the Ontario & Nunavut office on a regular basis to meet with clients. He will also be available via email at and through the toll free number at 1-800-565-1773.

Also joining the Ontario & Nunavut new media team as a new media analyst is Slavica Ceperkovic. Slavica was recently the visiting artist instructor at Alberta College of Art and Design in their media arts & digital technologies department. Prior to accepting the position at Telefilm, Slavica was the co-production coordinator at The Banff Centre’s Banff New Media Institute (BNMI). Slavica assumes her new role since June 11, 2007.
