41st Göteborg International Film Festival

(Narrative and documentary feature films) 

The Göteborg International Film Festival is now accepting entries for its 2018 edition.

Please note that all films must be submitted directly to the festival.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Films must not have been screened before January 1st, 2017;
  • Films must not have been screened in Sweden prior to the festival;
  • Feature films must be a minimum length of 60 minutes, and documentaries a minimum of 45 minutes;
  • Screenings formats accepted by the festival: 35mm or DCP;
  • Films entered must have English subtitles or original English dialogue.

Launched in 1979 with the goal to show non-mainstream films to a broader audience, Göteborg International Film Festival has become the biggest public film festival in Scandinavia. Each year, some 450 films from about 90 countries are screened by more than 30 000 visitors. Additionally, the Festival offers around 40 seminars as well as music, art and other activities surrounding the core of films.

The Ingmar Bergman International Debut Award is open for international feature films of fiction and documentary by first and second time director(s).

Telefilm Canada recognizes selection in the Göteborg International Film Festival as part of its Success Index and provides assistance through the International Festival Participation Program.
