Call for entries

(Feature-length and short films, all genres)

The Edinburgh International Film Festival is currently accepting entries for its 2019 edition.

Please note that all films must be submitted directly to the Festival.

  • Competitive: Yes
  • Entry fees: Yes

Eligibility

  • All submitted films must be completed after June 1, 2018;
  • All films must be UK premieres. Special interest is given to World, International or European premieres;
  • Any film that has previously screened online or is available to purchase online are not eligible. This includes DVD/Blu-ray formats;
  • EIFF regards a short film as 30 minutes or under and a feature film as anything over 30 minutes.

The Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) has been in existence since 1947 and alongside London, is the most important film festival in the UK. Every year EIFF welcomes up to 400 media representatives and over 1300 filmmakers and industry professionals from around the world.

EIFF programming strands include: World Perspectives (new trends), Directors’ Showcase, Documentaries, Animation and Night Moves (genre films).

Telefilm Canada recognizes the selection of a feature film in the Edinburgh International Film Festival as part of its Success Index and may provide assistance through the International Festival Participation Program.
