Telefilm Canada is a federal cultural agency reporting to Parliament through the Department of Canadian Heritage. The organization is a separate employer, distinct from the federal government, governed by the Canada Labour Code and internal management policies.
Who we are
With nearly 200 employees in offices in Vancouver, Toronto, Halifax, and Montreal (head office), we invest in promising Canadian content from across the country. We also actively promote Canadian talent and productions nationally and internationally, helping the audiovisual industry to reach new levels of cultural, industrial and commercial success.
Under a service agreement, we also administer the financing programs of the Canada Media Fund (CMF).
A work environment focused on success
We offer a stimulating work environment where all employees contribute their skills to the success of Canadian audiovisual productions and talent, both at home and on the international scene.
We make sure our employees succeed within the organization and feel recognized, supported and valued.
Services available to our clients
We provide financial support for production and distribution companies for selected film projects.
Certification of coproductions
We evaluate and recommend projects likely to be recognized as audiovisual treaty coproductions.
Promotion of Canadian talent
We work to promote Canadian talent and content at events, markets and festivals, at home and abroad.
We have a service agreement with the Canada Media Fund in order to provide financial support for the production of convergent content (television and digital media) on different platforms.
We finance it. We recruit it.
