Q2 2013-2014—Telefilm Canada announces over $4 million in production funding to support 18 lower budget feature film projects through the Canada Feature Film Fund

Montreal, January 6, 2014—Telefilm Canada announces its support for 18 lower budget English-language productions (with budgets under $2.5 million) from the Ontario and Nunavut, Western as well as Atlantic regions through the Canada Feature Film Fund. The total allocation for the productions selected, in the second quarter of 2013-2014, is slightly over $4 million.

Atlantic region

  • Heartbeat—directed by Andrea Dorfman; Idlewild Films Ltd./Black Dog Films Inc., comedy
  • How To Be Deadly—directed by Nik Sexton; Rink Rat Productions Inc., comedy
  • Relative Happiness—directed by Deanne Foley; Wreckhouse Productions Inc./Lady Hammond Entertainment Inc., comedy

Ontario and Nunavut region

  • Algonquin—directed by Jonathan Hayes; Berkeley Films Ltd./Spiral Entertainment Ltd., drama
  • Backcountry—directed by Adam MacDonald; Fella Films Inc., suspense
  • Big News from Grand Rock—directed by Daniel Perlmutter; Markham Street Films Inc., comedy
