Telefilm announces simplified application process for funding feature film co-productions

02 May 2013

Montréal, May 2, 2013 – Telefilm Canada is pleased to announce a simplified application process for funding feature film co-productions (including those in the mini-treaty with France). This initiative is part of Telefilm’s efforts to simplify business processes and enhance client services.

Accessible through the eTelefilm portal, a new consolidated application form ensures that recommendation requests for co-production certification are now integrated with funding requests submitted to the Canada Feature Film Fund (CFFF) and Telefilm Canada Mini-treaties program.

Effective immediately, any client submitting an application for funding to the CFFF or Telefilm Mini-treaties program for a co-production feature film project no longer needs to fill out and submit a preliminary recommendation request form. The request will automatically be made and will include the documents already submitted with the application for funding.

Coproduction certification requests for projects that are not applying for funding to the CFFF remain unchanged and will continue to be done via our online services.

Please note that no changes were made regarding television projects. Funding requests under the Mini-treaties program for development are made using the hard copy version of the application form. Requests for coproduction certification and requests under the Mini-treaties program in animation production also remain unchanged, which means that the applicant must submit an application to the Canada Media Fund (CMF) for project funding and another one to Telefilm Canada for co-production certification and Mini-treaty, via our online services.
