Telefilm Canada announces permanent appointments of Francesca Accinelli to the position of Director, National Promotion and Communications and of Roxane Girard to the position of Director, Business Affairs and Coproduction

Telefilm Canada is announcing that Francesca Accinelli, based in the Toronto office, who has been serving as Interim Director, National Promotion and Communications since June 2014, has officially been appointed to the position on a permanent basis. Ms. Accinelli joined Telefilm in 2006 as Deputy Director, English Market, for the Canadian Television Fund (now the Canada Media Fund), and was subsequently appointed director of the unit in 2008. Prior to joining Telefilm, Ms. Accinelli worked as a cultural administrator and theatre producer before moving on to television production, where she worked on big-budget TV series and TV movies produced for Alliance Atlantis, among other production companies. Passionate about Canadian television and film, she has in-depth knowledge of the industry and is skilled at establishing business relationships with industry representatives. She firmly believes that the promotion of Canadian film and talent is a priority.

Telefilm is also taking the opportunity to announce that Roxane Girard, who has been serving as Interim Director, Business Affairs and Coproduction at the Montreal head office for the last several months, has been appointed to the position on a permanent basis. Roxane takes on her new mandate after successfully moving through the selection process, which was also open to external applicants. Formerly National Director, Programs Administrator for the Canada Media Fund (CMF), Ms. Girard has worked in the Canadian film and television industry for close to 20 years. Before her arrival at Telefilm in 2006, she held the position of General Manager, Enterprise Funding, at the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles du Québec (SODEC). At SODEC, Ms. Girard gained in-depth knowledge of funding in regard to all aspects of the cultural sector, particularly film and television.
