Telefilm Canada announces the opening date for the 2013-2014 Development Program of the Canada Feature Film Fund (CFFF)
Montreal, April 25, 2013 – Telefilm Canada is opening its Development Program for 2013-2014. Production companies looking to finance the development stage of their feature film projects may submit an application between May 7, 2013 and November 7, 2013, the closing date of the Program this year.
A new revamped Development Program was launched in 2012-2013 as part of Telefilm Canada’s ongoing Program Redesign. After completing a fiscal cycle of the new program, Telefilm is pleased to share the results of the first year of the program, as follows:
- The allocation of program resources to development funding remained at a level comparable to previous years, both nationally and regionally.
- The objective of a balanced portfolio was achieved. Among the projects supported in 2012-2013, all genres and budget levels are represented, as well as all regions.
- The mentorship initiative, through which individuals belonging to a targeted group (Aboriginal communities, official-language minority communities and new talent) may engage in an arrangement with an eligible applicant who becomes their mentor, was very successful.
During the first year of the redesigned program, which was intended as a transition period, we listened to what our clients had to say. The feedback received during our post-mortem meetings and from a client program survey1 enabled us to identify areas for improvement and items for clarification in our decision-making processes as well as in the program guidelines.
Accordingly, Telefilm is starting off this second year by making a few adjustments that respond to the needs expressed by our clientele. An overview of these changes is available on the Program’s Web page.
