Montreal, October 29, 2015—Building recognition for Canadian talent and promoting the value of Canadian content is a key strategic priority for the audiovisual industry. Today, Telefilm Canada, along with partner Brunico Communications, welcome top brand marketers and content professionals for a day of strategic brainstorming, skill building and idea development at the Playback Marketing Summit.

Top media industry experts will share how they evolve their strategies to meet today’s new business challenges. Knowledge gained through the conference should inspire the industry with new ideas and innovative marketing practices to best reach audiences. It’s an opportunity to come together and develop strategies to ensure that Canadian talent shines in Canada and around the world.

Furthermore, Telefilm is publishing Audiences in Canada: Trend Report, a compilation of four years of audience research and market intelligence. This information may be useful for filmmakers looking to define their audiences and plan their distribution strategies. The Report covers overall film and television viewing, the growth of online platforms, preferences for personalization and declines in cinema-going, as well as, key opportunities for cinema releases, day-and-date releases, perceptions of Canadian content, and much more.

A tool kit will be created for Canadian creators following the Playback Marketing Summit, which will highlight some of the key steps required in order to connect with audiences. Stay tuned for this publication in the coming weeks.
