Telefilm Canada reopens the Export Assistance Program for fiscal year 2022-2023

Telefilm Canada is announcing key dates as well as changes made to the Export Assistance Program for fiscal year 2022-2023.

The Export Assistance Program provides financial support to distribution companies that have acquired exploitation rights of eligible Canadian feature films in foreign territories.

Key dates:

Opening date: August 18, 2022
Closing date: February 17, 2023, subject to availability of funds

Important changes:

• The eligibility criteria have been expanded to cover all foreign territories.
• The minimum guarantee paid for the acquisition of rights in the applicable territory must be $3,000 or more.
