Telefilm Canada Supports the International Festival of Films on Art

25 February 2010

Montreal, February 25, 2010 – Telefilm Canada is proud to provide financial support for the 2010 edition of the International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA). The 10-day competition, which takes place in Montreal from March 18 to March 28, features the world’s best films on art.

“Year after year, FIFA attracts key players in cinema, television and video because it is a vital link to global distribution,” said Bruno Légaré, Acting Regional Director, Business Development – Quebec Region, and National New Media Executive – French Market at Telefilm. “FIFA’s goal – which is to give people a better appreciation of art – is especially significant for Montreal this year because the festival will feature the world premiere of the Telefilm-supported documentary Montréal Symphony, a Canada-Germany co-production by Bettina Ehrhardt that follows conductor Kent Nagano and the OSM in its 75th season.”

The International Festival of Films on Art recently added genres such as mime, circus arts, tattooing and comics. FIFA venues besides Place des Arts include the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the National Film Board, the Cinémathèque québécoise, the Grande Bibliothèque, the Canadian Centre for Architecture and the Goethe-Institut.
