Telefilm’s flexible work policy requires employees to work from the office once a month. For the rest of the time, you have the choice to work from home or to work from one of the above-mentioned offices.
Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director and CEO, the Director, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (“EDI”) and Official Languages develops, manages and contributes to the enhancement of initiatives to build equity, diversity and inclusion into all of Telefilm Canada’s (“TFC”) activities and processes so that it remains a visionary organization and a Canadian leader in its field.
The incumbent will:
- Advise and influence managers and senior management on issues related to equity, diversity, inclusion and official languages.
- Work closely with senior management, team directors and other team members on the implementation of the 2022-2024 EDI Action Plan.
- Liaise and maintain working relationships between Telefilm Canada and major industry partners (to further our commitments to industry equity-seeking groups).
Main responsibilities:
- Provide advice to the Executive Leadership Team (“ELT”) on policies, practices related to EDI, Official Languages and the implementation of processes for handling EDI requests.
- Ensure the implementation, alignment and consistency of the EDI Action Plan.
- Participate, review and coordinate the drafting of documents and reports for accountability to senior management and the Board of Directors (EDI report, official languages, accessibility).
- Lead EDI and Official Languages team meetings, as well as some interdepartmental EDI meetings.
- Implement work processes in close consultation with the EDI initiative specialists in each department and members of the management team, among others, so as to change the way things are done.
- Monitor EDI industry news and best practices locally and internationally to help support the organization’s strategic directions.
Mandates and deliverables:
- Implement processes to monitor the progress and achievement of the EDI Action Plan objectives and key performance indicators, together with the departments.
- In collaboration with the teams, introduce training, measurement and tracking tools for the roll-out of the EDI Action Plan.
- Develop an Official Languages and Official Language Minority Communities Support Plan.
Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant discipline or any other combination of equivalent and relevant experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, including 3 years in a management role with similar responsibilities
- Ability to implement performance indicators
- Superior communication skills, oral and written (drafting of corporate documents), in both official languages at the CBC level
- Change management skills
- Ability to influence others and work independently
- Adaptability and tolerance for ambiguity
- Strong capacity to research and implement EDI best practices in various sectors
- Strong representation skills at industry events dealing with EDI
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills and ability to manage a diverse team
- Agility, proactivity and curiosity in problem solving and stakeholder management
- Availability for occasional travel
