{"id":149840,"date":"2024-10-17T12:24:55","date_gmt":"2024-10-17T16:24:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/telefilm.ca\/?post_type=appel-inscription&#038;p=149840"},"modified":"2025-01-29T11:41:14","modified_gmt":"2025-01-29T16:41:14","slug":"perspective-canada-at-berlin-2025-at-the-european-film-market-efm","status":"publish","type":"appel-inscription","link":"https:\/\/telefilm.ca\/en\/appel-inscription\/perspective-canada-at-berlin-2025-at-the-european-film-market-efm","title":{"rendered":"Perspective Canada at Berlin 2025\u00a0at the European Film Market (EFM)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"editor-content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>CALL FOR ENTRIES<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong><em>(Market screenings- Feature-length films, narratives, and documentaries)&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Perspective Canada at Berlin<\/strong> is the brand name of a group of market screenings reuniting a selection of Canadian features showcased at the<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.efm-berlinale.de\/en\/about-efm\/profile\/profile.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">European Film Market<\/a><\/strong> that runs parallel to the Berlinale.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"details\">DETAILS&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The showcase strives <strong>to increase the international promotion and exploitation of Canadian feature-length films<\/strong> and <strong>to spotlight Canadian companies, films, and talent <\/strong>to the 10,000 professionals from more than 110 countries accredited by the EFM.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Perspective Canada 2025 will present around 12 feature-length films in the EFM cinemas. For every film selected, Telefilm Canada will cover 50% of one physical market screening cost while the applicant must cover the remaining balance.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Every film selected in Perspective Canada will be screened <\/strong><strong>once<\/strong><strong> at the EFM.&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Applicants wishing to present their film twice will have to cover 100% of the cost for the second screening. Physical screening costs range from <strong>approximately 350 to 600 \u20ac per hour <\/strong>(based on 2025 rates).&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the case of a foreign-based international sales company representing an invited Canadian film, <strong>Telefilm Canada will invoice the Canadian-controlled production company for the market screening costs.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The film selected in Perspective Canada will also benefit from a promotional campaign developed and entirely funded by Telefilm Canada to guarantee the best possible exposure for the invited Canadian films.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>E<\/strong>LIGIBILITY CRITERIA <strong>FOR APPLICANTS AND PROJECTS<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only Feature-length films, narratives and documentaries, are eligible.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Films must be:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A CFFF-funded Canadian production,&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>or<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A non-CFFF-funded Canadian production selected at the 2025 Berlinale or at the 2025 Sundance Festival,&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>or<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An official Canadian coproduction directed by a Canadian filmmaker.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Films must be<\/strong> represented and submitted by a Canadian owned and controlled distribution or production company (within the meaning of the <em>Investment Canada Act<\/em>) as defined in the <a href=\"https:\/\/telefilm.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/guidelines-development-program-july-30-2021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>CFFF guidelines<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Selected films must<\/strong> have a sales agent attached.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Films must be<\/strong> produced in the 12 months prior to the EFM.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Films must be<\/strong> Market Premieres<strong>.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator filled:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Eligible films that are officially selected by the Berlinale or Sundance in 2025.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Eligible films that have won a recognized award, a special mention or recognition on the national or international festival circuit in the 6 months leading up to the market.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Eligible films with the most distinguished track record of performance at the Canadian box office in the 6 months leading up to the market.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>On a case-by-case evaluation, other films may participate on <\/strong><strong><em>an invitation-only basis by Telefilm Canada:&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Non-CFFF Canadian films which have garnered recognition on the international festival circuit or that have a distinguished track record of performance at the Canadian box office in the 6 months leading up to the market.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Telefilm Canada shall seek to maintain an appropriate regional balance, to encourage films and distribution and production companies from all regions of Canada.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If selected, applicant must meet the <strong>EFM\u2019s deadlines<\/strong> for film file delivery, market accreditation form, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.efm-berlinale.de\/en\/screenings\/film-entry\/film-entry.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>market screening registration form<\/strong><\/a> as well as Telefilm Canada delivery deadline of materials for the production of the promotional campaign planned around <strong>December 6, 2024<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator
