{"id":2486,"date":"2020-12-04T15:16:14","date_gmt":"2020-12-04T15:16:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/telefilm.ca\/appel-inscription\/74th-locarno-film-festival-short-films"},"modified":"2022-08-03T02:17:09","modified_gmt":"2022-08-03T02:17:09","slug":"74th-locarno-film-festival-short-films","status":"publish","type":"appel-inscription","link":"https:\/\/telefilm.ca\/en\/appel-inscription\/74th-locarno-film-festival-short-films","title":{"rendered":"74th Locarno Film Festival | Short Films"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"editor-content\"><h4><strong>Call for entries<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>(Short films, all genres)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.locarnofestival.ch\/LFF\/home.html\">Locarno Film Festival<\/a> is currently accepting <strong>short films<\/strong> for its 2021 edition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Please note that films must be submitted <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.locarnofestival.ch\/LFF\/Film-Submission.html\"><strong>directly to the festival<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #e15852;\">*The call for entries for the Canadian preselection screenings (Feature films) will be posted at a later date.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Competitive: Yes<\/li>\n<li>Entry fees: Yes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Eligibility\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Exceptionally for the 74th edition the Locarno Film Festival will be considering all works <strong>completed after January 1, 2020.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The duration cannot exceed 59 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Films selected must not have been previously released outside of their country of origin prior to the official presentation at the Locarno Film Festival. <strong>World premieres<\/strong> are favoured.<\/li>\n<li>Films available on the Internet, broadcast on television or commercially released on VOD, DVD, Blu-Ray or any other format are not eligible.<\/li>\n<li>All coproductions must be world premieres.<\/li>\n<li>Exceptionally, for the 74th edition of the Locarno Film Festival, short and medium films that have withdrawn their submission for the 73rd edition <strong>may be submitted again<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The Locarno Film Festival aims to promote arthouse cinema of artistic merit; to provide a showcase for major new films of the year from around the world; to take stock, in its competitive sections, of the new perspectives of filmmaking expression, concentrating especially on such new film directors and industries as command international attention.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The Pardi di domani section presents as a world or international premiere short and medium-length films <strong>not more than 59 minutes in length<\/strong>. All genres are eligible. This section includes two competitions open for filmmakers who have not yet made feature-length films: one reserved for Swiss productions and co-productions (Concorso nazionale), while the other is open to works from the rest of the world (<strong>Concorso internazionale<\/strong>).
