One of the largest and longest-running festivals in the country, ATLFF showcases the work of both emerging and established artists. In addition, the Atlanta Film Festival is one of less than twenty US film festivals that is Academy Award\u00ae-qualifying in all three short film categories: Narrative, Documentary, and Animated. Recent festivals have seen audiences of 28,000 film-lovers joining 300 attending filmmakers in support of works that push the boundaries of independent cinema.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ATLFF actively strives to be an inclusive showcase with spotlights on filmmakers of color, LGBTQ+ films, women and gender non-conforming filmmakers, as well as filmmakers from the American South. For the 2022 festival, 51% of the submitted program was directed by women and gender-nonconforming directors and 56% by BIPOC directors. The Atlanta Film Festival seeks inclusivity in on-screen representation as well, with 77% of the 2022 program featuring a woman, gender non-conforming person, and\/or person of color in a leading were selected in the festival: LEARN TO SWIM (Spotlight on films led by black filmmakers), HANDS THAT BIND (Competition) and GABOR (Documentary section).<\/span><span
