He will ensure rigorous oversight of legal and strategic practices, helping to secure Telefilm Canada&#8217;s position as a partner of choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With extensive experience in the media and entertainment sector, S\u00e9bastien Pigeon has held a number of executive positions with key companies in the industry. Most notably, he was Executive Vice-President and Chief Legal and Television Distribution Officer at Sphere Media, where he steered the distribution strategy and actively contributed to the organization&#8217;s growth. S\u00e9bastien was also appointed to the CMPA Board of Directors in September 2023, a position he held until recently. This experience gave him an invaluable perspective on the industry&#8217;s national dynamics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A lawyer with a master&#8217;s degree in information technology law from Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al, he began his career in 2001 at Zone3 before joining Ogilvy Renault (now Norton Rose), where he practiced copyright and entertainment law.
