The new set Self-Identification Questionnaire will aim to capture data relating to all directors, writers, producers, co-producers, and executive producers (excluding courtesy credits) attached to a project submitted to the Production, Development, Theatrical Documentary, and Talent to Watch Programs.<\/p>\n<p>The Self-Identification Questionnaire will be launched on January 4, 2022, when the Production Program begins accepting applications.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTelefilm\u2019s next phase in data collection will work to bring greater insight into Canada\u2019s audiovisual industry, and help us learn more about our film community, their projects, and their needs,\u201d said Christa Dickenson, Executive Director and CEO, Telefilm Canada. \u201cWe will be able to capture a more accurate portrait of our project pipeline, and address communities that need additional support, training, mentorship and more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Data is collected on a voluntary basis and covers Indigenous identity, racial and ethnic identity, gender identity and expression, belonging to an 2SLGBTQIA+ community, disability status, and belonging to an Official Language Minority Community.<\/p>\n<p>This data will assist in the evaluation, eligibility, and decision-making processes for project applications, as well as enhancing Telefilm\u2019s programs and industry initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>The Self-Identification Questionnaire was developed in consultation with Telefilm\u2019s external Data Collection Subcommittee, as well as the Diversity and Inclusion Working Group &#8211; both comprised of industry representatives from over 20 organizations.<\/p>\n<p>As a federal Crown corporation, Telefilm must comply with the Privacy Act framework for the collection of personal data, and prior approval from the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat was required before launching this new phase of data collection.<\/p>\n<p>To view the Self-Identification Questionnaire, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/telefilm.ca\/data-collection\">telefilm.ca\/data-collection<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>About Telefilm Canada<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a Partner of Choice, Telefilm Canada is a Crown corporation dedicated to the success of Canada\u2019s audiovisual industry, fostering access and excellence by delivering programs that support cultural resonance and audience engagement.
