Le film met en vedette Rojina Esmaeili, Saba Vahedyousefi, Pirouz Nemati, Mani Soleymanlou et Matthew Rankin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En tant que pr\u00e9sident d\u00e9sign\u00e9 non-votant du comit\u00e9, T\u00e9l\u00e9film Canada coordonne le comit\u00e9 de s\u00e9lection pancanadien qui a pour mandat de choisir le film canadien qui sera en comp\u00e9tition pour l\u2019Oscar<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u202fdu Meilleur film international des Academy Awards<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La s\u00e9lection a \u00e9t\u00e9 faite par un comit\u00e9 pancanadien compos\u00e9 de membres d\u2019organisations et de guildes professionnelles, ainsi que par des cin\u00e9astes et des professionnel\u00b7le\u00b7s de l\u2019industrie repr\u00e9sentant diff\u00e9rentes organisations. Un nombre de 26\u202ffilms a \u00e9t\u00e9 soumis en vue de la s\u00e9lection de cette ann\u00e9e. Les membres du comit\u00e9 se sont r\u00e9unis le matin du 27\u202fao\u00fbt pour faire leur choix.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour l\u2019instant,\u202f9\u202fpays ont soumis leur candidature pour le meilleur film international. Negin et Nazgol trouvent une grosse somme d&#8217;argent gel\u00e9e profond\u00e9ment dans la glace qui recouvre un trottoir et cherchent un moyen de la r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer. Massoud m\u00e8ne un groupe de touristes d\u00e9sorient\u00e9s dans une visite \u00e0 pied de plus en plus absurde des monuments et sites historiques de Winnipeg. Matthew quitte son emploi au gouvernement du Qu\u00e9bec et entreprend un myst\u00e9rieux voyage pour rendre visite \u00e0 sa m\u00e8re dont il est s\u00e9par\u00e9. Trois films de Denys Arcand ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9s\u202f:\u202f<em>Le D\u00e9clin de l\u2019empire am\u00e9ricain<\/em>\u202fen 1987,\u202f<em>J\u00e9sus de Montr\u00e9al<\/em>\u202fen 1990 et\u202f<em>Les Invasions barbares<\/em>\u202fen 2004, le seul film canadien \u00e0 avoir remport\u00e9 la statuette dans cette cat\u00e9gorie. \u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u00c0 propos du processus de s\u00e9lection pour la cat\u00e9gorie du Meilleur film international<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">T\u00e9l\u00e9film Canada coordonne et pr\u00e9side le comit\u00e9 de s\u00e9lection pancanadien sans toutefois avoir le droit de vote. Ce dernier est compos\u00e9 d\u2019environ une dizaine de d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s qui repr\u00e9sentent les principaux organismes gouvernementaux et les associations de l\u2019industrie cin\u00e9matographique nationale. Chacun d&#8217;entre eux peut d\u00e9signer un repr\u00e9sentant au sein du jury, conform\u00e9ment au r\u00e8glement de l&#8217;<em>Academy<\/em>. Ce jury est responsable de choisir le film qui repr\u00e9sentera le Canada aupr\u00e8s de <em>l\u2019Academy\u202fof Motion Picture Arts and Sciences<\/em>, qui n\u2019accepte qu\u2019un seul film par pays pour la cat\u00e9gorie du Meilleur film international.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L\u2019<em>Academy<\/em> a modifi\u00e9 ses r\u00e8glements en 2023, pr\u00e9cisant que les jur\u00e9s doivent inclure un minimum de 50 % d\u2019artisan.e.s travaillant actuellement dans l\u2019industrie du cin\u00e9ma. Les membres du jury doivent regarder tous les films soumis avant de participer \u00e0 une r\u00e9union virtuelle afin d\u2019\u00e9valuer les films et de voter pour celui qui repr\u00e9sentera le mieux le Canada aux Oscars<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>.
