ABOUT
The Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) is one of Asia’s most reputable platforms for filmmakers, film professionals and filmgoers from all over the world to launch new work and experience outstanding films. As a competitive event, the HKIFF serves as a platform for international film exchange, to promote better understanding between global cultures, and to discover new talents from around the world.
The Hong Kong International Film Festival is an Academy Award® Qualifying Festival. Firebird Award winners in the Short Film Competition and Documentary Competition will be eligible for consideration for the Academy Award®.
In 2025, The Damned, Universal Language, Yunan, Paul, and The Things You Kill were presented at the festival.
Telefilm Canada recognizes the selection of a feature-length film in the Hong Kong International Film Festival and may provides assistance through the International Promotion Program.
