ABOUT

The International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film (DOK Leipzig) is showcasing 250 documentary, animated films and XR works. The festival presents four competitions and two sections out of competition, for shorts (under 40 minutes) and feature-length films. World and international premieres preferred; German premieres required.

Every year, about 1,600 film industry professionals come to Leipzig to participate in over 50 events under the umbrella of DOK Industry. This festival’s component has established itself as an industry meeting place with platforms for professionals to sell films. It provides networking opportunities as well as financing and coproduction opportunities for new film ideas.

In addition, all winners of the International Competition for Short Documentary and Animation Films will qualify for consideration for the annual Academy Awards® provided that the film otherwise complies with the Academy rules.

Telefilm Canada recognizes a feature or short film selection in this festival and may provide assistance through the International Promotion Program
