(Feature films) 

The International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg is currently accepting entries for its 2023 edition. 

DETAILS 

  • Competitive: Yes 
  • Entry fees: 20 to 30 euros 
  • Please note that all films must be submitted directly to the festival

ELIGIBILITY 

  • First and Second feature-length fiction films intended for theatrical release; 
  • Running time of +61 minutes; 
  • German Premiere is required; 
    • They must also not have been broadcast on German television before the end of the festival and must not be available on video-on-demand platforms within Germany 
  • The festival gives priority to European and/or international premieres; 
  • The world premieres of the submitted films must have taken place after September 18, 2022;

ABOUT

The International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg focuses on discovering newcomers, celebrating innovation and setting new trends in the film industry. 

As one of the most important festivals in Germany, 50 narrative films, from directors who are newcomers – unknown outside their own country are presented each year. The festival’s International Jury bestows a number of awards, including the main Award, the “Grand Newcomer Award Mannheim-Heidelberg”. 

In 2022, the drama, THE MAIDEN (G. Foy), was selected as part of the On the Rise international competitive section.  

Telefilm Canada recognizes a selection of a feature film to this festival and provides assistance through the International Promotion Program.
