Berlinale and the European Film Market (EFM) 2026
Berlin, Germany, February 12 to 22, 2026
The 76th Berlin International Film Festival, including the European Film Market (EFM), Berlinale Co-Production Market and Berlinale Talents will take place from February 12 – 22nd 2026.
Telefilm Canada will be supporting Canadian professionals participating in the event through a promotional campaign that will highlight films selected in the festival, professionals registered at the Canada Pavilion, as well as those taking part in market initiatives such as JETS, the Coproduction Market Visitors’ Programme Producers without Borders, the Frontières Focus, and the EFM Toolbox.

Perspective Canada at the European Film Market (EFM)
Perspective Canada at Berlin is the brand name of a group of market screenings reuniting a selection of Canadian features showcased at the European Film Market that runs parallel to the Berlinale.
The showcase strives to increase the international promotion and exploitation of Canadian feature-length films and to spotlight Canadian companies, films, and talent to the 10,000 professionals from more than 110 countries accredited by the EFM.
Perspective Canada 2025 will present around 12 feature-length films in the EFM cinemas. Every film selected in Perspective Canada will be screened once at the EFM. Applicants wishing to present their film twice will have to cover 100% of the cost for the second screening.

First Look – EFM 2026
Organized by Telefilm Canada, FIRST LOOK at EFM is an export and promotion initiative that will showcase a selection of 6 to 8 Canadian excerpts of narrative features to the international acquisition community at the European Film Market (Berlin). The aim of the showcase is to promote Canadian feature films with export potential, with an objective of finding an international sales agent.

Directory of Canadians at Berlin 2026
Canadian industry professionals attending the European Film Market (EFM) and the Berlinale 2026 can now register to the Directory of Canadians at Berlin 2026. By registering, you will be part of our CANADA AT BERLIN 2026 promotional campaign and invited to Canadian activities organized on-site, if any.

10th JETS – Junior Entertainment Talent Slate
JETS, Junior Entertainment Talent Slate, will unite 1st, 2nd and 3rd feature film filmmakers with Canadian, German, Irish, Norwegian, Austrian, British, South African and US producers, sales agents, finance and distribution companies during a day of pitching and networking sessions with the aim of encouraging coproduction.

Producers without Borders at the Berlinale Co-Production Market
Created in 2004, the Berlinale Co-Production Market is a five-day event within the European Film Market (EFM), a “must do” event for the international film industry. Every year, 35 film projects are selected from all over the world, and their representatives have the opportunity to meet other participants in pre-scheduled meetings. Applications for Telefilm’s Visitor Programme are open for producers interested in international co-production (with no previous experience) and with a project ready for the 2026 Berlinale Co-Production Market.

Canada Pavilion at the European Film Market (EFM)
Turnkey private meeting spaces at a prime location for Canadian companies specializing in international acquisitions, distribution and sales. A wide range of services and benefits are included. These spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and priority will be given to clients of the 2025 edition.

EFM Frontières Focus in Berlin
The EFM Frontières Focus is a curated showcase of five genre projects (horror, sci-fi, fantasy, action, dark thriller) in advanced stages of financing, production, or post‑production. The goal is to foster high-level connections between creators and established industry professionals — including sales agents, distributors, and festival programmers.
