Cannes 2019 | NOT SHORT ON TALENT

Cannes, France, May 20 to 25, 2019

Call for entries

(Short films, all genres)

Telefilm Canada is currently accepting submissions for its 9th edition of “Canada: Not Short on Talent” at Cannes, a curated showcase presented at the Short Film Corner (May 20-25), a component of the Market which runs parallel to the Cannes Film Festival.

Not Short on Talent is the brand name of Telefilm Canada’s showcase that promotes recent Canadian short films to market accredited professionals looking to program or buy short films. Being part of the Short Film Corner video library is not a « festival » selection and is not connected to the Cannes Festival.

The Short Film Corner is an actual area in the Market dedicated to the promotion of short films from all over the world. During a week, the Short Film Corner organizes meetings, masterclasses, industry events and offers private viewing facilities to attending buyers and festival programmers. By being selected, your film will be available in the Cannes court métrage private library during the Short Film Corner and also be accessible on the Cinando secured and private screening platform for five months after the event.

Our curated showcase is designed to increase the international promotion of new short films and promising Canadian emerging talent to buyers, distributors, producers and festival programmers registered at the Market.

Selected films will benefit from a promotional campaign developed by Telefilm Canada to ensure exposure of the films. Under the “Canada: Not Short on Talent” label, your film will be highlighted by a prime position in the Short Film Corner online catalogue and screening facilities which contains 1000 shorts from all over the world.

In addition, if your film is selected and you are interested in attending the festival, the Short Film Corner offer s 2 festival accreditation per film. While Telefilm Canada encourages you to experience the festival and its market events, we are not offering travel grants for this initiative.
