Cannes 2024 | Canada Pavilion at the Marché du Film

CALL FOR ENTRIES

Telefilm Canada is currently accepting applications by Canadian companies for the Canada Pavilion at the Marché du Film in Cannes, taking place May 14 to 22, 2024 (onsite and online). 

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Sales agents cannot conduct sales activities under the national pavilions. You are invited to contact the Film Market directly to find out about the various offers (booth, Croisette Package, market accreditations, etc.). However, we invite you to register with us to benefit from the Canada @ Cannes 2024 promotional campaign, in addition to being added to our invitation lists. 

Telefilm Canada, along with its partners, offers an array of services and special discount rates under the Canada Pavilion umbrella. Located at the heart of the Marché du Film, the Canada Pavilion provides meeting areas and a program designed to promote the Canadian industry and talent. The Canada Pavilion will be in the International Village and will offer Canadians an open workspace with a terrace. Spaces will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.  

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 

  • The applicant must be a Canadian controlled entity within the meaning of the Investment Canada Act
  • Participants must be employed by a private company in Canada; 
  • Participants primary activity must be related to the film, television or new media industry. 
  • IMPORTANT NOTICE: Sales agents cannot conduct sales activities under the national pavilions. You are invited to contact the Film Market directly to find out about the various offers (booth, Croisette Package, market accreditations, etc.). However, we invite you to register with us to benefit from the Canada @ Cannes 2024 promotional campaign, in addition to being added to our invitation lists. 

As part of an agreement signed between SODEC and Telefilm Canada, any Québec company officially registered at the Canada Pavilion will be able to benefit from the advantages of programming and promotional tools put in place by SODEC, and vice versa. 


DESCRIPTION OF YOUR BENEFITS 

  • Promotional code – accreditation
    • Receive a promotional code allowing you to access the Umbrella Rate until May 3rd. This code is applicable to the purchase of your accreditation with the Marché du Film (physical presence – € 409). You will need one code per participant, so please be sure to list all your participants in your registration form.  
    • WARNING – Please note that no refunds will be made by the Film Market if you purchase your accreditation without applying your codes.  
  • Pavilion onsite
    • Meeting areas; 
    • Reception desk with message reception and transmission service; 
    • Wireless Internet access (available for Market badge only); 
    • Refreshments and snacks (coffee, water, juice, etc.) for you and your clients; 
    • Access to co-production information during the market; 
    • Invitation to participate in networking and/or promotional activities; 
    • Profile of your company in the Canada Pavilion’s promotional tools (RDVcanada.ca); 
    • Storage space for your material during the day; 
    • To reduce our ecological footprint and for sanitary reasons, the display spaces (paper) will not be available this year.

  • May 16, 2024 until 10:30 AM 
  • May 17th, 2024 as of 4:00 PM
  • May 18th, 2024 until 10:30 AM 
  • May 19th , 2024 until 10:30 AM and after 4:30 PM
  • May 20th, 2024 until 12:30 PM

HOW TO REGISTER

  • Complete the Canada Pavilion application before April 4, 2024. 
  • Upon receipt of the form, Telefilm will send you a promotional code for the umbrella and we will ask you to create or update your profile(s) on RDVCanada.ca (instructions to follow). 
  • Register to Marché du film to pay and confirm your badge. All the information here
  • For sales companies, complete the Canada Pavilion application and we will ask you to update your company profile on RDVCanada.ca. 

CANCELLATION TERMS 

  • Please note that the COVID-19 pandemic (or any variant thereof) may have consequences on the Canada Pavilion being held as described herein. It is strongly recommended that you comply with any travel advice and advisories issued by the Government of Canada at the time of the Marché du film. Please also regularly check the sanitary measures and rules from the organizers, the Marché du Film (if available). 
  • Refund or cancellation policies in regards of your accreditation are the responsibility of your contract with the Marché du Film and not Telefilm Canada. Telefilm Canada will not refund accreditation. 

IMPORTANT DATES 

  • Deadline for registration under the Canada Pavilion: April 4 
  • Deadline to buy your accreditation with the Canada umbrella code (€ 409): May 3 
  • Deadline to buy your accreditation with the market EARLY BIRD (without a code, € 429): February 1 to March 15 
  • Deadline to buy your accreditation with the market REGULAR RATE (without a code, € 499): March 16 to May 3 
  • Deadline to buy your accreditation with the market ONSITE (no code available, € 600): Starting May 13 
  • Add-on Producers Network (+ € 79):  Registration is restricted to producers whose main activity is production and who have produced within the last four years at least one feature-length film commercially released in a theater or commercially distributed on global video streaming platforms. Screenings during festivals will not be accepted as commercial distribution. These professionals must also provide proof of personal credits as a film producer (and not only their companies). Official documents may be required as proof to complete the request. Space is limited. 
  • Marché du Film: May 14 to 22 
  • Festival du Cannes: May 14 to 25
