Cannes 2026 | NOT SHORT ON TALENT at the Short Film Corner
CALL FOR ENTRIES
(Canadian short films, all genres)
Telefilm Canada is currently accepting submissions for its 16th edition of CANADA: NOT SHORT ON TALENT program at Cannes, a curated market showcase presented at the Short Film Corner 2026.
Not Short on Talent is a Telefilm Canada initiative that presents a selection of new Canadian short films at international markets. The chosen films will be presented at the SFC | Rendez-vous Industry, a component of Cinéma de Demain – entity of the Festival de Cannes dedicated to the support of young talents – whose activities take place at the heart of the Marché du Film.
Our showcase aims to increase the visibility of new Canadian short films and to promote talent to registered industry delegates from international markets, including buyers and curators of festivals.
The curated films will benefit from a promotional campaign developed by Telefilm Canada to ensure exposure of the films. Under the “Canada: Not Short on Talent” label, your film will be highlighted by a prime position in the Short Film Corner | Rendez-vous Industry market catalogue, as well as on the online & private VideoLibrary. Among other benefits.
If your film is chosen, you will have access to trainings developed by the Short Film Corner | Rendez-vous Industry and specifically dedicated to our cohort. Thanks to the 2 accreditations offered to your team, you will also have access to the market’s programming and activities such as panels, workshops, keynotes, masterclasses, screenings and more (onsite).
If funds are available, a travel grant will be offered to teams taking part in the Talent Tout Court 2026 programme to cover part of their travel costs.
