Founded in 1984, BUFF is an International Children and Young People’s Film Festival in Malmö. Since 1995, BUFF has been recognized as an official Swedish film festival by the Swedish Film Institute. Each year, about 100 films are presented and several awards and some cash rewards are offered. In 2013, Molly Maxwell directed by Sara St-Onge won the Young People’s Film Awards.

The aim of the festival is to screen good films for children and young people as well as adults. Buff’s goal is to open the possibilities for more influences from Europe and the rest of the world by showing films that might never be screened otherwise.
