ABOUT
The Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) is an eleven-day event that presents a diverse slate of 200 films (narrative, documentary, animation) to over 90,000 film enthusiasts. In addition to showcasing a diverse spectrum of films, tributes, galas and panel series with industry professionals are programmed during both weekends of the festival.
SBIFF has sections for documentaries that address social justice issues, nature and oceanography, food and wine, and the performing arts. Additional sidebars highlight contemporary world cinema from Nordic countries, Israel, Eastern Europe, Asia and Spain/Latin America.
The 2024 edition featured many Canadian films including Atikamekw Suns (dir. Chloé Leriche), Crush: Message in a Bottle (dir Maya Gallus), Days of Happiness (dir. Chloé Robichaud).
Telefilm Canada recognizes a FEATURE FILM selection in this festival and may provide assistance through the International Promotion Program.
