ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

ABOUT

Founded in 1984, BUFF Film Festival has been the most important screening venue for films for children and young people in the Nordic countries. Each year, more than 100 films from 40 different countries screen to a young audience (ages 3-19). BUFF screens films that are told from the perspective of children or young people.

There are two international competitions, one for Best Children’s Film with a cash prize and one for Best Youth Film, where the awarded film is selected by a jury of students.

In 2022, two Canadian features were invited at the festival, BEANS and VACARME, and in 2023, JULES AU PAYS D’ASHA, FALCON LAKE and YOU CAN LIVE FOREVER.

Telefilm Canada recognizes a FEATURE FILM selection in this festival and may provide support through the International Promotion Program
