ABOUT

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) is an eleven-day event that presents a diverse slate of 200 films (narrative, documentary, animation) to over 90,000 film enthusiasts. In addition to showcasing a diverse spectrum of films, tributes, galas and panel series with industry professionals are programmed during both weekends of the festival.

SBIFF has sections for documentaries that address social justice issues, nature and oceanography, food and wine, and the performing arts. Additional sidebars highlight contemporary world cinema from Nordic countries, Israel, Eastern Europe, Asia and Spain/Latin America.

The 2025 edition featured many Canadian films including Can I get a Witness (Ann Marie Fleming), Shephards (Sophie Desraspe), Village Kepper (Karen Chapman).
