ABOUT
The Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival is one of the most important short film festivals in the world. Films selected in the International Competition are eligible for cash prizes including the Grand Prize for which the director receives € 5,000. Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival qualifies for the Oscars®.
Taking place in parallel to the Festival is the 39th Short Film Market (Feb 5-8, 2024), a meeting and a marketplace dedicated to short films. The International Short Film Market aims to facilitate economic activity and encourage professional interaction in the short film sector. It is a unique venue for meetings, promotion and networking. All films submitted to the International Competition of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, whether or not selected, will be referenced in the digital catalogue of the International Short Film Market.
In 2023, HILLS AND MOUNTAINS (S. Pashtoonyar), INVINCIBLE (V. René-Lortie), NEIGHBORS IN MY BACKYARD (E. J. Tahchi), NURTURE (S. Argirov), HARVEY (J. Nadeau), OASIS (J. Martin), and MAGICAL CARESSES: SWEET JESUS (L. Malépart-Traversy) were selected at the festival, with INVINCIBLE winning the International Special Jury Prize.
Telefilm Canada recognizes the selection of a short film in this festival for application to its International Promotion Program.
Please note that Telefilm Canada’s Not Short on Talent initiative at Clermont-Ferrand’s Short Film Market will open its call in the coming months for the 2024 edition.
