ABOUT
The International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa is conducted jointly by the Directorate of Film Festivals (under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting) and the state Government of Goa.
Canadian films can be programmed in the International Competition for feature films, or in the non-competitive World Panorama. The International Competition offers several awards with cash prizes, notably the Best Film Award with 40,00,000 Rs to be shared between the producer and the director, the Best Actress Award, the Best Actor Award, etc. The festival highlights debut features by presenting the Silver Peacock Award for the Best Debut feature with 10,00,000 Rs.
In 2022, The Young Arsonist (S. Pye), In Broad Daylight (E. Tardif), Summer With Hope (S. Foroughi), Falcon Lake (C. Le Bon) and White Dog (A. Barbeau-Lavalette) were presented at the festival.
Telefilm Canada recognizes the selection of a feature film in the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and may provide assistance through the International Promotion Program.
