(Feature and short films, all genres)

 

The San Francisco International Film Festival is currently accepting applications for its upcoming edition.

Please note that all films must be submitted directly to the Festival.

Eligibility
  • Entries must have been completed on or after January 1, 2019;
  • Feature films must be over 50 minutes and shorts must under 50 minutes;
  • All genres are accepted (narrative, documentary, animation);

 

The San Francisco International Film Festival, the longest-running film festival in the Americas, screens 160 films to more than 70 000 movie lovers.

First narrative features by new filmmakers are eligible for the New Directors Prize that comes with USD $10,000. Additional juried and cash awards are also handed, notably the McBaine Documentary Feature Award with a $10,000 prize, and the Audience Awards—For Best Narrative Feature and Best Documentary Feature.

SFFILM Festival is an Academy Award®–qualifying festival for all three short film categories: documentary, live action and animated, as long as it has not previously been broadcast on television or the Internet.

Telefilm Canada recognizes a selection in this festival and may provide assistance through the International Festival Participation Program.
