ABOUT
Founded in 1957, the San Francisco International Film Festival, is the longest-running film festival in the Americas. The 11-day event presents international feature narratives and documentaries that screened at other festivals, and that have a Californian premiere status. Features are programmed in international competitive sections, and so are the medium and short length films.
SFFILM Festival is an Academy Award®–qualifying festival for all three short film categories (under 40 minutes): documentary, live action and animated.
In 2022, Canadian documentaries FIRE OF LOVE and MIDWIVES were showcased at the festival. In 2023, the festival featured SOMETHING YOU SAID LAST NIGHT and presented the Sloan Science in Cinema Award to BLACKBERRY.
Telefilm Canada recognizes selection of a feature film in this festival and may provide support through the International Promotion Program.
