ABOUT
The International Short Film Festival Oberhausen has become one of the world’s most respected short film events. The Film Festival Oberhausen is an independent festival accredited by FIAPF, the International Federation of Film Producers Associations, and organized according to FIAPF regulations and the regulations of the Festival. The Festival presents: Competitions (International, German, International Children’s and Youth Film, NRW), German MuVi Award (with separate regulations), as well as curated programmes.
It awards nearly 40,000 euros in prizes across competitions.
In 2023, four films from Canada were part of the selection: Nanitic directed by Carol Nguyen, I. directed by Alexandre Larose, Summer Nights by Virgile Ratelle and A Bear Names Jesus directed by Terril Calder.
Telefilm Canada recognizes selection of Short Films in this festival and may provide assistance through the International Promotion Program.
