(Feature and Web Series, Narrative and Documentary)
The American Black Film Festival is currently accepting entries for its 2022 edition.
Please note that all films must be submitted directly to the festival via FilmFreeWay.

Eligibility
- Narrative films must have a 72-minute minimum runtime;
- Documentaries must have a 60-minute minimum runtime;
- Webisodes must have a 15-minute maximum runtime inclusive of credits
- The director or writer and producer must be a person of African descent.
- Films must have been completed after January 2021
- Films that have been, or will be, broadcast or streamed on television or the internet, or released via any other public distribution platform (theatrical, Blu-ray, DVD, VOD, etc.) in any country prior to June 15, 2022, are not eligible for this category.
- Films must be in the English language or contain English-language subtitles.
ABFF stands as a leading film festival, where Black movie enthusiasts, artists, and filmmakers from around the world, come together with an extraordinary range of stories, countries, and cultures. The annual program presents new short films, web series, documentaries, and narrative features (U.S. & International), providing a space for Black creatives to be celebrated.
Telefilm Canada recognizes a FEATURE FILM selection in this festival and may provide assistance through the International Festival Participation Program.
