ABOUT
BISFF has established itself as the “Hub of Asian Shorts” by introducing various new short films from around the world every year. The purpose of BISFF is to discover and introduce outstanding short films directed around the world. Moreover, BISFF aims to bring the world’s latest and hidden gem-like shorts in the spotlight.
Each year, the festival awards money prizes, including a KRW 10,000,00 (USD 7,200) Grand Prix for the best film, a KRW 5,000,000 prize for excellence, a jury award and an audience Award.
In 2023, Anthony Ing’s Jill, Uncredited was recognized with the Excellence Award (Keyup Award). The films Invincible (Vincent René-Lorti) and Sikiitu (Gabriel Allard Gagnon), were also in selection.
BISFF is a qualifying festival for:
- Academy Awards – Oscars® (Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences)
- Premios Goya (Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España)
- Canadian Screen Awards (Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television)
- British Academy Film Awards – BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts)
