FOCUS ASIA 2025 – Far East Film Festival

FOCUS ASIA is a unique industry event taking place from April 28 to 30 in Italy within the framework of the Udine Far East Film Festival and bringing together over 200 film professionals and decision makers from Asia, Canada and Europe (you can find here the complete list of attendees from last year). The main goal is to foster new artistic collaborations and co-productions between different markets.

FOCUS ASIA LAB

For the first time, FOCUS ASIA and TELEFILM CANADA have partnered to offer up to four Canadian producers the opportunity to participate in FOCUS ASIA LAB, a program designed to highlight co-production opportunities with Asia (particularly Japan, Korea and South East Asia) and provide deeper insight into the Asian production and distribution landscape.

FOCUS ASIA LAB is integrated into the broader FOCUS ASIA industry program, offering direct access to key players in the Asian market.

Canadian producers eager to explore the Asian landscape and meet Asian outstanding projects seeking international coproductions, can apply to participate in Focus Asia Lab by filling in the dedicated application form by March 7.

Focus Asia will select up to 4 producers that, thanks to the support of TELEFILM CANADA, will receive a flat contribution of 2,000 CAD to cover their expenses (travel, hotel, all meals).

ALL GENRES PROJECT MARKET

A special co-production platform for upcoming high-quality feature films in development. Projects must be feature-length, fiction films in advanced development phase, with co-production or co-financing potential with Europe or Asia.

FAR EAST IN PROGRESS

The only works-in-progress section in Europe dedicated to Asian films in post-production looking for international distribution and festival premiere. Selected teams have the chance to screen 10 minutes of their films to a large panel of international sales agents, festival programmers and buyers from both Europe and Asia.

OTHER PROGRAMMING

The FOCUS ASIA programme will moreover include a series of exciting programmes designed for international producers, sales, buyers and festival programmers:

• Distribution Lab
  • Thanks to the partnership with Europa Distribution, the European Network of Independent Film Publishers and Distributors, more than 20 distributors from over 15 different countries will take part in a unique tailor-made Lab.

• Sales Lab
  • Thanks to the partnership with Europa International, the European organisation for films sales, approx 10 sales agents will take part in a unique tailor-made Lab.

• EAVE Ties That Bind
  • Workshop bringing together Asian and European film professionals to work on feature film projects in development under the guidance of top-level experts from both continents.

The programme will also feature a series of lectures, case studies, one to one meetings and networking activities to bring closer all our Asian and European participants.
