Rotterdam, Netherlands,, January 26 to 30, 2019

Call for entries

(Emerging Producers)

Telefilm Canada, one of the CineMart’s International Partners, is now accepting applications from emerging producers interested in participating in the Rotterdam Lab 2019 held during the Rotterdam International Film Festival’s 36th annual edition of the CineMart.

Initiated in 2001, The Rotterdam Lab is a 5-day training programme for emerging producers, organized during the CineMart, the renowned annual co-production financing forum for feature films held during the International Film Festival Rotterdam. The aim of the Rotterdam Lab is to give starting producers the opportunity to develop international market experience and knowledge through privileged access to CineMart participants, panel discussions and round table sessions.

Telefilm Canada’s partnership with the CineMart will allow for four Canadian producers to participate in the Rotterdam Lab 2019 who will receive an accreditation for the CineMart as well as 5 night accommodation (arrival Saturday, January 26 and departure Thursday, January 31). Participants are responsible for making travel arrangements and covering all other costs (Air fare, Per Diem, etc.).

Eligibility Requirements

In order to make sure that the Rotterdam Lab is as fruitful as possible for each of the participants, several conditions and guidelines have been set up.

  1. The Rotterdam Lab is a programme for new and emerging producers. Writers and/or directors cannot take part in the Lab;
  2. You must have produced more than one short film and not more than two (narrative) features in your career;
  3. You must have a feature-length project (narrative) in development suitable for co-production;
  4. You are a Canadian citizen or have landed immigrant status.
