The SXSW 2020 Film Festival is currently accepting entries. Please note that all films must be submitted directly to the festival.

ELIGIBILITY
- The festival accepts submissions of features and shorts of all genres;
- Open to works (features, shorts and episodic) completed in 2019, 2020 or early 2021.
- Features must NOT have been acquired and released via any public online distribution platform (streaming, VOD, SVOD, etc.) outside of a limited-time virtual festival event before SXSW

In March, creatives of all stripes gather for the acclaimed SXSW Film Festival to celebrate raw innovation and emerging talent both behind and in front of the camera. SXSW is a qualifying festival for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Short Film competition. The Best Animated Short, Best Narrative Short and Best Documentary Short winners become eligible for the Academy Awards.
Telefilm Canada recognizes selection in the South by Southwest Film Festival as part of its Success Index and provides assistance through the International Festival Participation Program.
