Venice Days – « Giornate degli Autori »
Call for entries
Feature-length fiction and documentary films
Venice Days, an independent and parallel section, is organized by the National Association of Filmmakers (ANAC), and by the Association of 100 authors. It selects only 12 feature films worldwide and presents a cash prize of € 20,000 to the filmmaker and the film’s international distributor (or, in the absence of which, the producer).
Many Canadian films had their World Premieres at Venice Days over the last 13 years: EARLY WINTER (2015), GERONTOPHILIA (2013), SIDDHARTH (2013), STORIES WE TELL (2012), CAFÉ DE FLORE (2011), INCENDIES (2010), C.R.A.Z.Y (2005 TIFF “Best Canadian Feature Film”), RÊVES DE POUSSIÈRE and CONTINENTAL, UN FILM SANS FUSIL (2007).
In 2017, EYE ON JULIET by Kim Nguyen won the FEDEORA PRIZE – BEST FILM from the Jury of the Federation of Film Critics of Europe.
