BAFICI attracts the local public and a large number of professionals including filmmakers, producers, distributors, festivals programmers and journalists. In 2016, close to 380 000 people attended the festival.
The International Official Competition is open to fiction, experimental and documentary feature-length films, provided that they are the director’s first, second or third work. Many awards are handed in this category.
