Rotterdam, Online, January 25 to February 5, 2021

Call for entries

(Workshop -Emerging Producers)

Telefilm Canada, in partnership with the International Film Festival Rotterdam (“IFFR”), is offering emerging Canadian producers the opportunity to attend the Rotterdam Lab, organized as part of CineMart at IFFR 2021.

Initiated in 2001, The Rotterdam Lab is a workshop for emerging producers, organized during the CineMart, the renowned co-production financing forum. The aim of the Lab is to provide promising producers with the means to build and develop an international network. Providing skills to navigate the world of international film financing, sales and distribution, Rotterdam Lab offers a place to over 60 producers from over 24 countries. This year, the Lab will take place entirely online.

Telefilm Canada’s partnership with the CineMart will allow selected producers to participate in the Lab and receive a CineMart accreditation.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to make sure that the Rotterdam Lab is as fruitful as possible for each of the participants, several conditions and guidelines have been set up.

  1. The Rotterdam Lab is a programme for emerging producers who have produced three or more short films and not more than two narrative features in your career;
  2. You must have a feature-length project (narrative) in development suitable for co-production;
  3. You are a Canadian citizen or have landed immigrant status.

The Selection

The choice of participants is conducted by Telefilm Canada and the selected candidates will be informed in late November 2020.
