ABOUT
Outfest is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit arts organization dedicated to creating, sharing, and protecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and genderqueer media.
OUTFEST is the second important film festival for LGBTQ + in the US. The festival was born out of a grassroots movement by Outfest alumni filmmakers to promote social change through the power of film. Since then, Fusion has continued to bring the city’s multicultural communities together to centre LGBTQIA+ people of colour and provide a platform to amplify these voices, and also provide access and resources specific to the needs of the QTBIPOC community.
For the first time in its history, the 2024 edition of Outfest Fusion will include juried prizes, along with audience awards, for certain categories of films. Some awards qualify the winner to submit the film for the Oscar® (Live Action Short/Animation Short).
Telefilm Canada recognizes a FEATURE FILM selection in this festival and may provide support through the International Promotion Program.
