The festival selects films for six international competitions as well as several non-competitive sidebars. Dox:Award is the international main competition, The Next: Wave is dedicated to emerging filmmakers; F:ACT Award is dedicated to films in the field between documentary filmmaking and investigative journalism and New: Vision presents ground-breaking experiments in the area between documentary and artistic reflection.
CPH: DOX also offers professional international financing and co-production components during its Industry Week, including the CPH: FORUM (for documentary projects in development or WIP), as well as the CPH: LAB (new media).
Recent Canadian films selected at the festival: Wilfred Buck, The Bones, I shall not Hate, Geographies of solitudes, Soviet Bus Stops, The Longest Goodbye, Twice Colonized.
Telefilm Canada recognizes a selection of a feature film in the Festival for applications to its International Promotion Program.
