ABOUT
Venice Days is an independent sidebar held during the Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica di Venezia, promoted by the national association of filmmakers and the association of authors.
The 10 films selected are world premieres and compete for the three awards of Giornate degli Autori, including a cash prize of €20,000, to be split equally between the filmmaker and the film’s international distributor.
First films are eligible for the “Luigi De Laurentiis Award Lion of the Future”, granting 100.000 USD.
Many Canadian films had their World Premieres at Venice Days: VAMPIRE HUMANISTE CHERCHE SUICIDAIRE CONSENTANT (2023); THE MAIDEN (2022), ST-NARCISSE (2020), EMMA PETERS and VILLENEUVE (2018), EARLY WINTER (2015), GERONTOPHILIA (2013), SIDDHARTH (2013), STORIES WE TELL (2012), CAFÉ DE FLORE (2011), INCENDIES (2010), C.R.A.Z.Y (2005), RÊVES DE POUSSIÈRE and CONTINENTAL, UN FILM SANS FUSIL (2007).
Telefilm Canada recognizes the selection of a feature film in the Festival for applications to its International promotion Program.
