The Hong Kong International Film Festival is currently accepting entries for its 2019 edition.
Please note that all films must be submitted directly to the Festival.

HKIFF has grown to be Hong Kong’s largest cultural event and is one of Asia’s most reputable platforms for filmmakers, film professionals and filmgoers. Screening over 280 titles from 50 countries in 11 major cultural venues in Hong Kong, the HKIFF reaches an audience of over 600,000 and 4,500 professionals attending the concurrent Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART, March 18-21, 2019).
Eligibility
- English subtitles are required for non-English language films.
- Please consult the festival website for eligibility requirements according to each section.
The HKIFF comprises feature-length narratives and documentaries (60 min. or above), , shorts of all genres (max. 15 min) and animation films in the following sections: Young Cinema Competition, Documentary Competition, Short Film Competition, Indie Power, Reality Bites, World Animation, Poetry in Motion.
Directors of each selected feature film in competition will be invited by the Festival, with the travelling expenses covered by the HKIFF.
The Juries present awards and cash prizes to the winning directors.
Telefilm Canada recognizes the selection of a feature-length film at the Hong Kong International Film Festival and may provide assistance through the International Festival Participation Program.
